Renga BIM System Release Announcement

Renga Software product team is very excited to announce the release of Renga BIM system — the latest version of Renga — to all our current and future users. The new version delivers several new features and functionalities for mechanical and electrical design, and project worksharing

December is a perfect time for the team and the whole company to review the year's events. Great achievements are the product of some great collaborations, some great team efforts. Team effort is a must to make any organization a success. Nothing great can be accomplished by only one person. Team effort is a key and Renga developers pack a powerful punch in this department implementing worksharing. Bringing together users of Renga ArchitectureRenga Structure and Renga MEP apps, worksharing allows architects, designers and engineers to work on the same project model at the same time. Imagine all the benefits of this new tool: increased productivity, greater optimization, improved quality of modeling by eliminating the misconceptions between team members. One of the key features of worksharing is the ability for each team member to make changes to a local copy of the central model simultaneously.

This is an incredible time-saver that simplifies and streamlines design workflow by enabling all team members to work on one task in parallel. In addition, this capability improves the quality of project delivery by helping team to connect workflows and collaborate across the project lifecycle. Worksharing doesn't require time-consuming setup or complex administration, so it's a win-win for everyone. Synchronization tool provides designers with up-to-date model information helping them to adopt the most rational structural and space-planning concepts. This new enhancement connects data and people, enabling smoother collaboration and project delivery. It consequently reduces the risk of costly errors for design companies and contractors. Synchronization tool in its current status provides designers with previously impossible workflow scenario: right after one designer places curtain elements in model, another can start creating window openings and opening filling. Worksharing functionality is going to be enhanced in next releases, so that team members can simultaneously make design changes to the same column (one changes section, while the other one assigns material) (Fig. 1).

New worksharing tool provides a consistent experience for all Renga users and makes it possible for the whole team to participate for better project delivery, even when they work remotely from each other. We implemented the ability to initiate a workshared cloud model so you can explore inter-team collaboration experiences when your desks are miles apart.

Renga latest release delivers several new functionalities aimed at enhancing the modeling productivity for electrical power system. This is yet another new feature implemented exclusively for Renga MEP users. Now they can create electrical power system information models in Russian-made BIM system (Fig. 2) and generate all required documents. This has been made possible through the implementation of two important functionalities: parametric styles for lighting fixtures, electrical appliances and distribution boards that has been recently included to Renga tool set; and new routing functionality that allows to design electrical power system inside of a building.

Renga Software developers did their best to make electrical power system design in Renga MEP a consistent and productive experience. To that end, developers implemented automatic laying of power transmission lines from distribution substations. Our users will definitely appreciate automatic scheduling for electrical system elements (Fig. 3) and automatic generation of drawings as per Russian Federation Standards of the system of design documents for construction (SPDS) (Fig.4).

Along with other significant enhancements, Renga MEP features a productive tool set that dramatically improves modeling process, enables users to create information models of duct systems (Fig. 5) and automatically generate ventilation drawings and schedules.

Ventilation system is an essential part of any home or business premises since its main purposes are to provide a continuous supply of fresh outside air, maintain temperature and humidity at comfortable levels, reduce potential fire or explosion hazards and prevent occupational diseases like bronchitis, allergy, asthma etc. Aware of that, Renga developers have made engineer's work maximally automatic, reducing the potential of human error when designing ventilation systems. Renga MEP can now route duct runs, add fittings and connect mechanical equipment, helping designers create a better digital model (Fig. 6).

Complete ventilation model will provide designers with axonometric plan (Fig. 7).
